Anita joined the Westboro Legion Branch 480 at West End Villa & Carling Retirement Community & met seniors who lost loved ones in WWI, WWII & Korea. Westboro Legion Branch 480 hosted Remembrance Day services at seniors homes for those who cannot get to the services.

At West End Villa & Carling Retirement Community, Anita met Albert and Edna, from the Netherlands, who have been married 66 years. Edna was born only two years after World War One. They are grateful to Canadian soldiers for their liberation.
